For people who have slow-cooking food lifestyle, you have to deal with spoil veggies, meat, fruits, and any other fresh product which cannot stand the growth of the microorganisms on it. You need to put extra care into the store and prepare them properly. So it can extend the product lifetime and you can keep the freshness of the produce.

Besides, the time that you spend on the kitchen to process your food may not that much because you have another thing to do. So, making your food in the simplest and fastest way is one of the solutions.

Through some simple tips below, you do not need to worry anymore if you cannot finish a chop of meat on one cooking or spending more time on peeling garlic. It is worth to try, so do not miss any tips!

1. Properly Store Shelled Nuts

The oil in nuts can easily become spiteful if you put in the storage for too long. But if you store them in the freezer, the original taste will stand longer like when it’s still freshly harvested.

The taste is incredibly delicious if you compare it with the one they sell at the supermarket. You will find it easier if you want to make a soup or stew dish since you only need to add some veggies on it.

3. How to Keep Celery Crisp Longer

To keep your celery from turning floppy within a few days, wrap it tightly in aluminium foil to extend its shelf life and keep it crisp for weeks. But if you forget to do this and your celery goes limp after a week, you can store with other veggie scraps (like onion, garlic, and carrots) in the freezer to make homemade broth.

6. How to Ripen Produce Quickly

When you want certain fruits to ripe faster, you do not need any special bags to ripen it. You only need to store them on the counter or in a plain paper bag with other fruits that have a high level of ethylene gas such as avocado and banana.

7. Store Fresh Herbs Properly

To keep the freshness of the herbs, you need to place them in a cup filled with a little bit of water, cover loosely with a plastic bag, and store in the fridge. They’ll usually last a few weeks this way, which is great if you love to garnish meals like pasta, soup, or tacos with a small handful of parsley, green onion, or cilantro.
